Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University or HAU is one of the biggest agricultural universities in Asia. It is a public agricultural university owned by government and located at Hisar, Haryana. In earlier time it was a campus of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. But in 1966 after the formation of Haryana it was established as autonomous institute in 1970 under Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act, 1970. It was named as Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University in 1991.
The main campus of the University is spread over an area of 2922 hect at Hisar and 587 hectares other outstations. It won the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s Award for the Best Institute in 1997. It is affiliated by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and UGC. University comprises six colleges in the main campus at Hisar:
- Indira Chakravarty College of Home Science (CoHS)
- College of Agriculture (CoA).
- College of Basic Sciences & Humanities (CoBS)
- College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (CoAET)
There are two other campus of Agriculture at Bawal ( Rewari) and Kaul (near Kurukashtra).

Admission in HAU: For admission in MBA(General)/MBA (Agribusiness) need to have basic qualification and CMAT Score (or any other AICTE recognized test score). Admission in other courses depends on the Merit in the Common Entrance Test and educational qualification with percentage.
