GATE 2016 is being conducted to get admission in IISc (Indian Institute of Science) and seven IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) where candidates will be checked and evaluated by Graduate Aptitude Test at Engineering Level. One Administrative Committee will be responsible for eight zones through their zonal GATE Office at the IITs or IISc.
Scores obtained will be criteria for getting admission in Post Graduate programs in the field of Engineering.
